         101日上午,诺丁汉孔子学院专职教师叶李贝贝,志愿者教师李冉和黄冰走进当地的Beeston老年人活动中心,为32位老年人提供了汉语日常用语,书法,太极拳及中国乐器的教学和表演,受到了老年朋友们的欢迎和称赞。

     整个活动分为汉语,书法,太极拳和乐器四个部分。汉语课上,教学的内容以日常的生活用语为主,如“你好”“再见”“谢谢”等。经过一节课的教学,老年朋友们都开心地使用汉语互相打招呼。汉语课上还融合了书法艺术,李冉老师教老年朋友们从握笔,到笔画再到整字,让他们亲身体验手握毛笔书写汉字的感觉。考虑到老年人的身体条件,太极拳的体验以简单的热身动作为主。另外,叶李贝贝老师和黄冰老师共同演示了太极的攻防作用,并分别展示了陈氏十八式及杨氏二十四式的套拳;最后给大家讲解了抱拳礼的含义。在中国乐器课上,叶李贝贝老师介绍了埙,陶笛,横笛,箫和葫芦丝等乐器,并教他们如何吹响这些乐器,最后以一首《月光下的凤尾竹》结束了这美妙的音乐课。

    老年朋友们纷纷表示他们很享受这一个上午的中国文化体验活动,并邀请三位老师以后有机会再继续交流。

Nottingham Confucius Institute holding a Chinese Culture Workshop in Beeston Old People Centre



Beibei YeliRan Li and Bing Huang from Nottingham Confucius Institute (NCI)were invited to hold a Chinese culture workshop in Hamber Lodge.32 elderly residents were give the Mandarin teaching, calligraphy , Taiji and Chinese traditional musical instruments lessons or performance. And they are satisfied with the Chinese teacher’s enthusiasm and talent.

The workshop contains 4 part including mandarin teaching , calligraphy , Taiji and Chinese traditional musical instruments. Ran taught the elderly residents daily expressions like “Ni hao”(hello)”Zai jian”(goodbye)”Xiexie”(thank you) and so on. They greeted each other in Mandarin after class. Combined with calligraphy , Ran taught them how to hold a brush, how to write a stroke and even Chinese characters. For the sake of physical condition of  the elderly residents, teachers taught them the simple warming up actions and introduced how Taiji works when you are defencing. Beibei and Bing show Chen 18 and Yang 24 form and explain the etiquette of “Bao Quan”.  For the instruments , Beibei introduced Xun, Taodi, flute , Xiao and Hulusi and tell them how to make a voice. At the end of musical instruments workshop , Beibei played The Bamboo under the Moon by Hulusi.

The elders said they had an enjoyable morning, and they have a personal experience in Chinese Culture including Taiji, handwriting, and Chinese traditional instruments. When it comes to the end, some of them ask for another such Chinese culture salon.
