5月9日，诺丁汉孔子学院参加了诺丁汉大学一年一度的大学开放日活动。孔院中方院长孟金蓉、诺丁汉大学张华老师、郭岚老师和孔院全体成员、中国当代学学院访问学者以及学生志愿者共20人参与组织活动。大学开放日作为一年一度向社会家庭开放的盛事，已经连续成功举办六年。大学各个系部在活动中展示各自的特色，吸引广大家庭的参与与反馈。

在往年成功经验的基础上，孔院为今年开放日定位主题为：中国一隅，并精心设计了9项活动，分别是太极表演、书法临摹、剪纸折纸、筷子夹球、正反颠球、地图拼图、套圈游戏、跳棋游戏和花样涂色。同时增加了图章兑奖品的环节，印发了活动宣传单，利用宣传单集图章兑奖品的诱人环节使各个摊位活动连成一个整体，增加了活动的整体关注度。奖品设置丰富多样，设置了多项有中国特色的奖品，如汉字书签、书法水写临摹纸、熊猫脸画、手绘团扇、筷子礼盒、十二生肖剪纸等。

活动从早上十点半开放入场直至下午5点结束，孔院摊位全程人流穿梭不断，在各个摊位前驻足，排队参与，为了攒集活动图章，有些参与者不惜多次排队参加挑战，直至挑战成功。也有些参与者，为了兑换感兴趣的奖品，不止一次参与我们的活动。其中，汉语名字临摹、花样剪纸折纸、套圈游戏大受欢迎；手绘团扇、熊猫脸画等奖品也非常受孩子们喜爱。逢整点表演的太极展示环节更是吸引了大批围观家庭，不少孩子也是跃跃欲试，一展拳脚。

大学开放日活动分布在大学主校区各个主楼，规模盛大。孔院所在的中国一隅活动是人流较为集中的一片。整场中国一隅活动共发放了近500份宣传单，吸引了近500个家庭的参与，参加人数将近1200人。活动取得了圆满成功，获得了广大参加家庭的好评和赞叹，已形成一定规模的品牌效应。

Nottingham Confucius Institute took part in the May Fest event
On 9 May, Nottingham Confucius Institute attended the May fest event of University of Nottingham. May fest, also known as the University 's annual open day to the community, has been successfully held for six years. All the departments take part in the event and demonstrate to attract the participation and feedback of the communities.
Based on the successful experience of the previous years, we designed a nine activities for our China Corner this year, which are tai chi demonstration, calligraphy writing , paper-cutting and origami, chopsticks pick-up game , Ping-pang hitting games, ring toss games, checkers games and colouring games . We also offered varies typical Chinese Prizes, such as Chinese characters bookmarks , magic paper for calligraphy writing, panda face painting , hand-painted Chinese fan, chopsticks gift, and zodiac paper cutting . May fest opened from 10:30 am to 17:00 pm. People visited the China Corner constantly. All the tables were crowded with participants around them. There were even long lines in front of the calligraphy writing table, ring-toss game area. Some participants, in order to gain the interesting prizes, kept trying more than once to participate in our activities. The hand-painted fan, panda face painting and other prizes were also very popular to children. The Tai-chi show also attracted a large number of people. Many children were also eager to learn some Tai-chi movement.
May fest every year is such a large event for the University and there are activities in many buildings located in the Uni-park campus. Among them, the China Corner event is one of the most popular one. We have handed out nearly 500 copies of leaflets, attracted the participation of nearly 500 families, a number over 1,000 people. The China Corner Event was a great success and it has become a favourable activity to the community.
